Recently I’ve been on something of a Archbishop Sheen kick. Prior to that, I knew of Archbishop Fulton Sheen, but not a whole lot about him. I knew he was a big part of the Catholic Church here in the United States, and I knew he’d written many books. One of which I’d been putting off reading for too long until a friend recently spoke about Sheen’s prophecies concerning the Blessed Mother and it sparked my curiosity all over again.
For those wondering, the book I’m talking about is called The World’s First Love: Mary, Mother of God. I’ve only just begun reading it, but it’s quite beautiful so far and very compelling. I recommend.
Outside of the book, though, I’ve stumbled upon a number of videos of him on YouTube taken from a popular program he used to have on TV called Life Is Worth Living. In all honesty, the first time you see this man, it’s hard not to fall in love with him. His wisdom, his wit, his eloquence, and, above all, his inspiring dedication to Christ. Christians everywhere admired him (Catholics and non-Catholics), and it’s plain to see why once you get to know him
One video in particular I wanted to share here concerns a subject I’ve often heard spoken in prophecies, Scripture, Marian Apparitions, and something that’s simply plain to see right before our eyes:
The signs of our time.
Our Lady’s recent Medjugorje message (5/2/16) briefly touched on this particular topic, reminding us to “observe well the signs of the times”. She knows how important this is.
As time goes on, it’s becoming increasingly difficult not to notice the various forces working to disrupt and destroy the sanctity of all that we know to be true and good in God’s eyes. Peace, freedom, family, motherhood, innocence, love and marriage, faith; the list goes on and on. We are under attack by ideologies that are creating a world void of faith and goodness, and replaced with fear, immorality, and hate.
Needless to say, it’s a big mess out there. But as one of the Medjugorje visionaries once said, sometimes when cleaning a house, a big mess has to be made before everything can be clean and neat again. And if we pray and trust in the Lord’s Providence, we have nothing to fear. And Our Good Mother is doing well to remind us of that in her messages, too.
Sheen gave this talk on his program sometime in the 1950s. As you watch, you’ll find that his words are both prophetic and highly relevant still today in our modern world.
