August 25, 1993 message from Our Lady of Medjugorje to Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti:
“Dear children! I want you to understand that I am your Mother, that I want to help you and call you to prayer.
Only by prayer can you understand and accept my messages and practice them in your life.
Read Sacred Scripture, live it, and pray to understand the signs of the times.
This is a special time, therefore, I am with you to draw you close to my heart and the heart of my Son, Jesus.
Dear little children, I want you to be children of the light and not of the darkness.
Therefore, live what I am telling you.
Thank you for having responded to my call.”
Reading over this message, part of what Our Lady said reminded me of something Saint Paul once said:
“But you, brothers, do not live in the dark, that the Day of the Lord should take you unawares like a thief. No, you are all children of the light and children of the day: we do not belong to the night or to darkness, so we should not go on sleeping, as everyone else does, but stay awake and sober. Night is the time for sleepers to sleep and night the time for drunkards to be drunk, but we belong to the day and we should be sober; let us put on faith and love for a breastplate, and the hope of salvation for a helmet.” [1 Thessalonians 5:4-8]
